Tate Online
"Tate in partnership with BT is now the national leader in museum and gallery webcasting, and is probably ahead of the game in embracing the digital culture of the future".
Judith Bumpus, The Art Newspaper, October 2007
BT and Tate have been in partnership since 2000 when BT sponsored the Collection displays at the newly opened Tate Modern. Seeing the natural link with Tate's 'fifth gallery' BT subsequently moved to supporting Tate Online.
Over the past seven years BT and Tate have worked together to achieve innovative and interactive online initiatives, including online learning, teachers' resources, Young Tate, Tate Tracks (an experiment between art and music) and many, many more, promoting the website to a worldwide audience.
Tate Online is now considered the UK's most popular visual arts website attracting over 16.7 million unique visitors in 2007/2008.
