BT and the London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games

BT has a significant role in the London 2012 Games and was a major contributor to the successful bid for the Games to come to the UK.

Our involvement is in 3 main areas:

  1.  As a commercial partner we will be delivering technical Infrastructure for the Games including live TV feeds.
  2. We are a sustainability partner to ensure these will be the most sustainable Games ever. http://www.london2012.com/plans/sustainability/index.php
  3. Our Education programme will be contributing to a major legacy skills programme. http://www.london2012.com/get-involved/education/index.php

Message from Duncan Ingram who heads BT’s London 2012 activities

"It’s almost a year since we became official communication services partner for the London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games and we’re making great progress.
We’ve met the first major milestones on the communications infrastructure delivery programme: agreeing with the London Organising Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) the “road map” that sets out what we’ll be delivering and when, and the amount of traffic that will need to run on the systems BT will put in place.
