What is it?
Every October we devise a week of events designed to draw attention to the importance of listening to young people and the work the Better World Campaign does to support this.
What happened during the week in 2008?
The theme for Big Listen 2008 was Time. It aimed to tap into the feeling that so many people have of being time-poor and unable to dedicate considerable amounts of time to different interests and causes. We wanted to demonstrate to BT employees that giving their support to and getting involved in the Better World Campaign didn’t always require a great deal of time or effort but that there were many positive things they could do in short spaces of time, often via their computer. For the first time, all Big Listen 2008 promotion and activities were coordinated and managed online and proved to be very successful amongst employees.
What activities did BT employees take part in?
From registering to receive the campaign newsletter, downloading our free resources, to learning more about becoming a ChildLine counsellor or signing up to volunteer at a campaign event, employees were presented with many different activities and actions that enabled them to engage with the campaign in quick, easy and effective ways.
