Circles of Influence

What are they?

A UK Youth Parliament (UKYP) event for young people and influential adults to debate issues and promote a greater understanding across the generations. This year's event at the British Museum was attended by 250 people and covered issues such as sex and relationship education, votes at 16 and public transport. The Circles format can be used by anyone anywhere who wants to promote discussion across the generations.

Why does BT support this?

We see this as part of our mission to give young people a voice. It offers MPs and business leaders a rare opportunity to learn the views of young people and an opportunity for young people to improve their communication skills.

Circles of Influence

“We must take the involvement of young people seriously and act on what they say.”

Tessa Jowell MP
