A UK Youth Parliament (UKYP) event for young people and influential adults to debate issues and promote a greater understanding across the generations. The 2007 event at the British Museum was attended by 250 people and covered issues such as sex and relationship education, votes at 16 and public transport. The Circles format can be used by anyone anywhere who wants to promote discussion across the generations.
We see this as part of our mission to give young people a voice. It offers MPs and business leaders a rare opportunity to learn the views of young people and an opportunity for young people to improve their communication skills.
“We must take the involvement of young people seriously and act on what they say.”
