It’s always exciting when our activities are picked up by the national press and getting into the Guardian Society section this week with the Seen and Heard Awards announcement was fantastic. But what was even more thrilling was to see that the Chief Superintendent of Devon and Cornwall Police was writing about Seen and Heard on his blog! He was completely with us when he wrote how young people tend to be demonised when actually so many of them are doing great things. I hope young people realise that they’ve got a great champion there. And given that young people and the police aren’t always best of friends, there’s another stereotype smashed!

And don’t worry, the closing date for applications isn’t until 9 May.
