Molly and the Pirate (online)
A resource to help teachers deliver the national curriculum requirement for speaking and listening.
- Online activity
Aimed at children in KS2, the resource helps develop good communication skills and team work, as Molly encourages her crew to be good at listening, describing, and checking understanding.
This 16-page comic follows Molly's race at sea to save her
grandpa's house. Along the way she meets a ghost pirate,
Cap'n Bloodblister, jellyfishmen, a marooned sailor, cannibals,
a giant squid, and learns some valuable lessons about teamwork.
Molly teaches her crew about the importance of listening,
describing, and checking understanding. The crew they're
racing against don't do these things very well, and good
communication wins the day.
This is also available in published format in packs of 30 A4 size, two colour, 16 page comics.
