Writing, presenting and producing podcasts

In June this year we trained 25 YR9 students from schools in Knowsley, Liverpool, to write, present and produce their own podcasts.

“We’re using the obvious attraction of technology to teach the core verbal communication skills involved in planning a programme, writing links, conducting interviews, and editing the end product,” said Peter Osborn of Dialogics, who carried out the training.

The one-day course was organized by Liz MacGarvey, of Knowsley LIG. “What’s been great about the help we’ve had from BT is that it’s been so professional and practical,” she said. “We saw the students turn into confident podcasters learning about interviewing and editing and so on. I’m really looking forward to the next phase of training. And I think BT is doing a great job improving communication in schools.”
