What will it do?
The Communication award audit assesses pupil-to-pupil communication, dialogic teaching in the classroom, staff interaction and even analyses community access to the school.
Applying questions to the whole of the school community, each school will be able to thoroughly self-assess their strengths and weaknesses in the area of dialogic communication.
The purpose of the Communication award project is to:
- Give more prominence to the issue of communication within schools by making it a strategic issue demanding the school management team’s attention
- Raise awareness of what communication best practice in schools looks like, and encourage more schools to achieve this
- Acknowledge schools that have demonstrated a real commitment to good quality communication in all aspects of school life
