Inspiring Young Minds

During 2007/8, Inspiring Young Minds has benefited over 18,000 children and 25 schools in some of the most deprived communities in South Africa. Working with UNICEF, BT's support has helped to achieve the following:

Achievements to date

• 25 schools being provided with additional classrooms, renovated and secured, to benefit an estimated 18,750 children.
• 150 principals and teachers trained in effective school management and leadership skills.
• 10 computers provided to each of the 25 schools (total 250 computers).
• The 25 selected schools have each become a hub of excellence for 5 surrounding schools, offering after school learning exchange programmes for a further 35 girls and 15 boys.
• An ICT mentorship and coaching programme for girls has been introduced - benefiting 1,250 girls.
